Shetland Heat Energy and Power is the largest local energy company operating a heat network in Shetland. Providing low emission heating and hot water to over 1200 properties in Lerwick the company supplies around 20% of the total demand for heating and hot water in the isles.
As SHEAP seeks to grow its business and add additional energy capacity, it is looking to appoint an Engineering Manager
Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to foster professional development.
- Develop a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Take responsibility for managing a high standard of health and safety.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programmes and budgets for network and plant room.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of district heating projects within established timelines and budget constraints.
- Respond to and manage repairs to network.
- Design, plan and manage new connections.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and longevity of our district heating systems.
- Pursue, research, investigate and evaluate new energy sources to allow expansion of the network.
Candidates should have a degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent verifiable experience.
Salary will be based on ability and experience of preferred candidate.
